It's Been a Busy Month
On April 22, 2008 Illinois State Senator Michale Bond (pic 1) and Pat Daley of Energy Solutions (pic 2) invited LCCA members to a breakfast discussing the proposal to de-commission the Zion Nuclear Power Plant.
April 24, 2008 brought LCCA's Membership Meeting to Key Lime Cove. Our speaker, Doug Arnot of the International Olympic Committee (pic 4) talked about Lake County's part of the 2016 Olympic Bid. Dave Young of Lake County Partners (pic 5) introduced Doug. LCCA president Lyle Ehlers (pic 3) got the meeting started. Everyone left the meeting excited about the prospects the 2016 games will bring to the area.
On April 16, 2008 LCCA renewed the OSHA Alliance. Pictured (Pic 7) are Nancy Hauter, OSHA; Diane Turek, OSHA; Lyle Ehlers, LCCA president; and Fred Rodheim, LCCA Safety Committee Chair.
On April 30, 2008 LCCA's Future Leaders and Education Committees sponsored a LEED seminar (pic 9). Dan Harmon, Turner Construction Co. (pic 8) was our invited speaker to this sold out event.
On May 6 and 7, 2008 LCCA and CISCO once again co-sponsored a Career Expo for Lake County 8th graders at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Over 450 students were provided a hands-on opportunity to learn about apprentice programs in bricklaying (pic 11), plumbing, carpentry, operaitng engineer (pic 10), and other careers in construction (pic 12 and 13).
